Fiskee Dough is still considered pretty new around the Damansara Perdana area, but even with their young age, many have already flocked here to try out their unique take on freshly baked doughnuts and ice cream.

It’s not your ordinary ol’ store-bought doughnuts. Imagine nice, warm doughnuts topped off with delicious ice cream instead. Some versions even include double-deckered and triple-deckered doughnuts that would entice you to to dig in before even snapping a picture! It looks more like a meal in itself, and that is what makes Fiskee Dough a dessert spot not to be missed.

Discover KL recently caught up with the founder of Fiskee Dough, Wylie Tang as he shares about how he got into the business, which are his personal recommendations off the menu, and much more.

1. What is your backstory before getting into the business?

Wylie (W): I was initially from a background of Corporate Branding and Multimedia Business prior to starting Fiskee Dough.

2. Why did you start this business?

W: I started this business because I’m really passionate about F&B, as I have owned my first café in Bukit Jalil, known as Fishee Coffee. Thus, for Fiskee Dough, which is my second café, I would like to have something different. That is why I came up with Gela–Dough.

3. How did the idea for Fiskee Dough come about?

W: This idea came from when I was travelling in Scandinavian countries. I personally love travelling and there was this unforgettable moment where I observed this group of family and friends spending quality time together enjoying their doughnuts. This was what inspired me to bring this idea back home.

4) Which meal would you recommend to your customers?

W: We always recommend the Legen-Doree for those who love sharing as it comes in bigger portions. For people who prefer to enjoy their desserts by their own, we would recommend them to go for our Gela–Dough which comes with a scoop of ice cream on top of a freshly baked doughnut.

5) Who makes up the Fiskee Dough team?

W: In my Fiskee Team, the five of us have our very own expertise as we have spent plenty of effort and time experimenting on the making of our Gela-Dough. In the team, there’s Chloe, who has continuously motivated and inspired me. Bryan is a very passionate baker who always ensures the quality and the texture of the dough is of top notch. In addition to that, he ensures that the café is also well0managed. Nicholas is a team member who always has a knack for discovering new, interesting and creative ideas. Lastly, there’s Cheok, a barista who is very particular about coffee and always makes sure to serve the best coffee.

6) Choose one dish from your restaurant that you wouldn’t mind eating for the rest of your life.

W: It will be the Legen–Choco because we believe chocolates make people happy.

7) What are you looking forward to for Fiskee Dough?

W: When people think about doughnuts, it would be Fiskee Dough.
