“Don’t grow up, it’s a trap”, whispered Peter Pan to Wendy. Most people fear growing older, for one reason or another. One of the reasons could be the fear of giving up our childhood dreams, whether it’s to become a singer, actor or dancer. But what if I told you that our dreams do not have to die when we grow older?

Gymnastics is often thought of as a sport for young kids below their teenage years. It’s no secret that we are like sponges during our youth. We are able to pick up languages with ease and we’re more flexible as well. This makes it easier for us to try sports such as dancing, cheerleading and gymnastics.

However, if you’ve missed your chance at trying gymnastics when you were younger, you’d be glad to know that that dream need not be over.

Total Gym Club, located at Dataran Prima, offers gymnastic classes for adults as well. You do not require experience as Coach Mike, the artistic gymnastics director at Total Gym, told Discover KL that even beginners are welcome. Of course, if you do possess background (i.e. past gymnasts), it would be an added benefit and you would likely be able to progress quicker.

The class is open to those aged 18 and above and each class has roughly 10-15 people. Classes are held once a week and each session lasts for 90 minutes long. The monthly fee is RM160.

There are plenty of physical activities that we can partake in such as muay thai, jujitsu and even dragon boating. However, gymnastics is another way we can remain fit despite our busy work schedules. It’s also nice to be able to have a good stretch every now and then.

Besides adults gymnastics, Total Gym Club offers other classes such as recreational artistic/sports aerobics, cheer gymnastics, gym dance and even merry gym which is catered for kids aged 3-6.

If you’re hoping to join a group of adult gymnastics enthusiasts, Total Gym Club would be a good place to start.
