These stunning desserts are actually crafted by a 7-year-old Malaysian girl named Leah Choy.

Despite her age, the young girl spends her time in the kitchen, honing her skills to where it is today. She takes classes and puts in the effort to craft the beautiful dessert creations, and by no means is Leah an ordinary 7-year-old who just loves to bake. She does this neither for fame nor fortune, but rather, all for love.

Leah ventured into baking from the young age of 4, and she does this to raise funds for her younger sister, Adele, who was diagnosed with microcephaly at infancy.

As of October this year, Leah has baked and decorated over 13,500 cupcakes and raised close to RM40k for her beloved sister, barely turning down orders and working tirelessly to help Adele in every way possible. Even in the large amount of orders which she has amassed, she’s always given each dessert a 100%.

“We have baked and probably thrown away few dozens of cupcakes that were just not close to perfection due to many reasons like we missed out an ingredient or we added the same ingredient twice,” Leah’s mother shared on her Facebook page, Chef Leah With A Big Heart.

Recently, Leah even had the chance to meet Chef Buddy Valastro, her baking idol, whom she baked a basket of rose desserts for. She had missed a chance to meet Buddy when she was in New Jersey earlier this year, and to finally meet him in KL, the 7-year-old was no doubt thrilled.

“Since Buddy does not check my Facebook. This is what I made for him. A basket of flowers that he can eat. Do you think he will like it? I made with lots of love and I put my heart inside,” Leah shared on Facebook. Due to her sincerity and love, Buddy has even invited Leah to join him on his television series Cake Boss.

Throughout this journey of 2.5 years, Leah has grown from not being certain of what to say to a group of 15 kids in her first workshop, to speaking to a crowd of over 3,000. Her confidence blossomed and enabled her to conquer being camera shy, to now being featured in the media. The young lass has come a long way, but at the end of the day, it always leads back to Adele and never was it ever for fame.

Leah would often tell her mother, “Mummy, why do I have to take so many pictures and do so many interviews? I’m doing this for Adele and I don’t need to be famous. I love my sister that is why I’m doing this. When you love someone and you really want to help, there is really no need to be famous and to show people. Baha’u’llah says we need to be humble…always,” Leah shared on Facebook.

It takes sacrificial love to do what Leah has done for her sister and with the funds she has raised through baking, Adele will be seeking treatment in Philadelphia in December.
