The DiscoverKL ambassador team had a great month of October, where they attended plenty of cool events which included sneaker conventions, Halloween parties and more. Here’s a recap of all the fun things they got up to the past month!
1. Ikano Power Centre Food District Relaunch
Ikano Power Centre recently underwent a major revamp and has since introduced several new store outlets, inclusive of a food district complete with 20 food outlets. We sent ambassadors Nina, Sarah and Sharon to suss out what’s new and happening at Ikano Power Centre.
Broke but wanna bring your girlfriend out on a date? IPC has just completed its first phase of redevelopment! LG floors are now reopened. They now have tons of new stalls (and their toilet looks better than my room) This is definitely the place to bring your girlfriend to! It's not just the aesthetics, the food is great too (just like your girlfriend)! So what are you waiting for? Head on down to IPC to get your girlfriend's cravings satisfied before she leaves you. Thank you to @discoverkl and @ipcshoppingcenter for having me! #reimaginefun #ipcshoppingcenter
The girls enjoyed the variety of food options available at the newly launched food street at the LG floor of Ikano Power Centre.
Haven’t you heard? IPC Shopping Centre has completed their first phase of redevelopment! The LG floor is now re-opened to a whole new look & there are many more shops. I got a chance to participate in a private tour of the new mall. Got a taste of what’s to come at Foodland and managed to visit their Recyclable Waste Drop-Off Station. Very cool! You can now enjoy different varieties of food at Foodland – Korean, Thai, Japanese & of course the local foods (I recommend the dry laksa from Laksamana). Everything is at one place and it's very convenient. Not to forget, their cute pastel-themed toilets (very instaworthy). Thank you again, IPC Shopping Centre for having me. It was fun. #reimaginefun #ipcshoppingcenter
From Korean and Thai to Japanese and Malaysian, there’s bound to be something that you’d fancy here. In fact, ambassador Sharon’s favourite was the Dry Laksa from Laksamana so if you happen to pay the mall a visit, do give this dish a try!
Guys! I had tea the other day at IPC Damansara (because diet starts tomorrow). They just recently reopened their Foodland food area, located at the Ground floor of the shopping centre! The food selection there was crazy.. The food that I ate was only from 3 stores and they have more than 20 stores here! Super delicious food & my fave was the Dry Laksa from Laksamana! #musttry You can eat whatever food you want within 1 location! How good is that! Come n try it out. #reimaginefun #ipcshoppingcenter Also Thank you @discoverklofficial for sending me there to try out all these good food ❤️
2. SneakerLah Convention
SneakerLah Convention, like its name suggests, is an annual event which is geared towards sneakerheads and skate fans. Our resident sneakerhead, Shannon, dropped by to scout out the upcoming releases from international streetwear brands like Vans, Reebok and Rastaclat.
At the convention, she managed to pay the SneakerLah marketplace a visit, where 50 sneaker-related vendors displayed their collection, all to the soundtrack of cool beats and performances from the likes of Airliftz and Zamaera.
3. Anneh Banana Food Review
Anneh Banana considers themselves the PIGasso of Indian banana leaf and it’s easy to tell why. They offer a porky twist to those who are BOARed of the typical banana leaf rice. Ambassador Sarah went down to Anneh Banana for a porkilicious food review and sampled dishes like Pork Varuval and Devil Rib Curry.
Is your boyfriend cheating on you again? Well now you can bring him to @therealanneh to put some spices up his bum bum to teach him a lesson. Had the privilege to get my banana leaf craving satisfied and I had to say they did not disappoint. Love the way they flavour their food definitely spiced up my life. So what are you waiting for? Go to @therealanneh for the real deal! Thank you @discoverklofficial for the opportunity! 💕 @_rocketriot
4. Nights Of Fright 5.0
Nights of Fright is an annual haunted house event hosted at Sunway Lagoon. Celebrating their 5th year in Malaysia, we sent ambassadors Yu Yin, Shannon and Sharon to a spooktacular night they won’t forget.
i had so much fun last night at sunway lagoon's 5th halloween event, the nights of fright 5! thank you @discoverklofficial for sending us there! you should take this opportunity & bring your girl crush to this event so that she can hug you when she's scared HAHAHA 🌝 they have 8 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, 11 thrill rides & 4 show stages so make sure you don't miss out the fun!! btw surprisingly the blood tastes pretty good too 💉
There were 8 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, 11 thrill rides and 4 show stages in total and the girls paid as many rides and houses a visit during their time there.
My very first experience of an Halloween event.🎃 It was a blast! Really scares me at the haunted house. It’s really fun to go with a group of friend where you can laugh and scare them anytime. It wouldn’t be that fun without you guys 💕 @s.kayy_97 @official__cjy @yuyinnn 🙈 Thank you @discoverklofficial for the invites. ✨ #discoverkl
5. The China Bar KL Launch
The China Bar KL is a new watering hole in the heart of Chinatown and it combines a mix of modern and olden day architecture. Focusing on an oriental theme, The China Bar KL is all about their rice paper lanterns and décor. Guests can join in by dressing to the nines in their tuxes and cheongsams.
Ambassadors Sarah and Nina dropped by and enjoyed some of the drinks from their extensive menu which includes interesting flavours like Pandan Lemongrass vodka and Junglebird spiced rum.
6. Wine Bar Launch @ The Point KL
You can’t possibly go wrong with wine and an elaborate dinner. As ambassador Sarah puts it, the combination of both words is ‘winner’.
She dropped by the recent Wine Bar launch at award-winning restaurant and bar, The Point KL. Coincidentally, she also happened to be one of the first few in Malaysia to experience dining at this new concept bar in KL. At the end of the evening, she managed to sample 7 different wines and champagnes and of course, who could forget—dessert?
If you combine wine and dinner, the new word is winner. Had a great evening at @thepoint_kl, the food was hella good. It was so good I forgot to take a photo of the dessert 😅 other than that we tasted 7 different wines and champagne, I learned so much about wine the taste of it how it’s dry (it’s water Idk how it’s dry) or soft or ladylike. I really enjoyed myself ☺️ thank you @thepoint_kl and @discoverklofficial for having me ☺️💕 📸 @_rocketriot
