The DiscoverKL ambassador team had a great month of October, where they attended plenty of cool events which included sneaker conventions, Halloween parties and more. Here’s a recap of all the fun things they got up to the past month!

1. Ikano Power Centre Food District Relaunch

Ikano Power Centre recently underwent a major revamp and has since introduced several new store outlets, inclusive of a food district complete with 20 food outlets. We sent ambassadors Nina, Sarah and Sharon to suss out what’s new and happening at Ikano Power Centre.

The girls enjoyed the variety of food options available at the newly launched food street at the LG floor of Ikano Power Centre.

From Korean and Thai to Japanese and Malaysian, there’s bound to be something that you’d fancy here. In fact, ambassador Sharon’s favourite was the Dry Laksa from Laksamana so if you happen to pay the mall a visit, do give this dish a try!

2. SneakerLah Convention

SneakerLah Convention, like its name suggests, is an annual event which is geared towards sneakerheads and skate fans. Our resident sneakerhead, Shannon, dropped by to scout out the upcoming releases from international streetwear brands like Vans, Reebok and Rastaclat.

At the convention, she managed to pay the SneakerLah marketplace a visit, where 50 sneaker-related vendors displayed their collection, all to the soundtrack of cool beats and performances from the likes of Airliftz and Zamaera.

3. Anneh Banana Food Review

Anneh Banana considers themselves the PIGasso of Indian banana leaf and it’s easy to tell why. They offer a porky twist to those who are BOARed of the typical banana leaf rice. Ambassador Sarah went down to Anneh Banana for a porkilicious food review and sampled dishes like Pork Varuval and Devil Rib Curry.

4. Nights Of Fright 5.0

Nights of Fright is an annual haunted house event hosted at Sunway Lagoon. Celebrating their 5th year in Malaysia, we sent ambassadors Yu Yin, Shannon and Sharon to a spooktacular night they won’t forget.

There were 8 haunted houses, 5 scare zones, 11 thrill rides and 4 show stages in total and the girls paid as many rides and houses a visit during their time there.

5. The China Bar KL Launch

The China Bar KL is a new watering hole in the heart of Chinatown and it combines a mix of modern and olden day architecture. Focusing on an oriental theme, The China Bar KL is all about their rice paper lanterns and décor. Guests can join in by dressing to the nines in their tuxes and cheongsams.

6. Wine Bar Launch @ The Point KL

You can’t possibly go wrong with wine and an elaborate dinner. As ambassador Sarah puts it, the combination of both words is ‘winner’.

She dropped by the recent Wine Bar launch at award-winning restaurant and bar, The Point KL. Coincidentally, she also happened to be one of the first few in Malaysia to experience dining at this new concept bar in KL. At the end of the evening, she managed to sample 7 different wines and champagnes and of course, who could forget—dessert?
