In Malaysian tradition, we would often pour water on our friends whenever it’s their birthday. It’s just a fun and friendly way to celebrate an occasion, and in Thailand, this idea is brought to life through a festival known as Songkran. Songkran is actually an iconic festival in Thailand which is meant to celebrate the Thai New Year in April of every year. The reason for Songkran is to cleanse the old and bring in the new, as well as to usher in the good fortune.

Due to this famous festival, SongkRun was born in Malaysia and it has been ongoing for a few years now. With their success earlier this year, the festival will be back in 2017 and they are expecting even more participants to join in the fun. It’s truly a one of a kind experience where you would be drenched from head to toe as you chase people around with water guns.

What makes this run even more exciting are the pitstops. There aren’t just one or two obstacles, but five in total to provide entertainment for everybody. There’s the classic Water Fountain, bubbly Foam Party, Rainbow Tunnel, Rain Shower and last but not least, the Fire Brigade.

There will also be a deejay playing top hits during the event so that would no doubt amp the excitement levels even more! Each participant will receive a t-shirt, medal, waterproof pouch and wristband for participating. The Shooter pack on the other hand will entitle participants to an additional water gun which they can fill up at designated water filler stations in each obstacle track.

Unfortunately, you can’t bring your own water gun for safety purposes, so just go ahead and get yourself the Shooter pack instead. We guarantee you won’t regret it! Prices for the event are between RM88-RM155 and the pre-sale for the tickets will begin this month.
