KL-ites were first introduced to omurice back in 2013 when Slurp Café included the dish on its menu.
For the uninitiated, omurice is a dish popular in Japan and it gained popularity worldwide for its oddly satisfying concept.
Slicing through the omelette, it’ll flood the bed of rice its resting on, with a golden stream of runny egg.
Worth “Boomerang-ing” for Instagram, the dish isn’t just known for its looks. It’s also said to be a truly indulgent meal.
Folks have been returning to Slurp Café for this very dish and they’ll now have a new place to head to for the same classic omurice and more.
That’s because Slurp Café has officially relocated to Seksyen 19 and they have a brand new name: Omulab.
The café has hipster vibes to it and almost feels like the cooler older brother to the former Slurp. The menu’s pretty impressive too, with Slurp bringing back old classics and introducing new flavours too.
Expect dishes like omu dons, squid ink seafood pastas and more.
If you’re looking to pay this restaurant in Seksyen 17, PJ, a visit, do look out for the adorable signboard of a cartoon couple donning omu rice hats.
Alternatively, allow the delicious scent of omurice wafting through the air to guide you here. 😛
