If you’re an artsy person and enjoy attending art festivals, you’d be glad to know that Urbanscapes is back. This creative arts festival has been around for the past 15 years and its events span categories like music, arts, design and film.
This time around, the event will run for 16 days and at different venues. Each event is divided into different segments and dates as well. For instance, the concerts will be held at The Bee Publika and KL Live.
The Bee, Publika will be featuring plenty of music acts such as This Town Needs Guns, English rockers TTNG and also plenty of local bands who will be rocking the stage. The event will be held on May 6th and May 12th.
At KL Live, expect a headlining act by Danish prog-rock trio Mew, who will be collaborating with The Trees & The Wild, Indonesia’s finest ambient rock group. Of course, the one act you should not miss out on is Clean Bandit. The band famous for tracks like Rather Be and Rockabye will be taking center stage on May 18th! Tickets are priced between RM58-RM218 for selected KL Live shows which will be held on May 10th and May 18th.
Art lovers should head to the Urbanscapes House (Medan Pasar) on May 13th-14th to enjoy a showcase of interesting things such as vintage items, vinyl goods and leather works. While you’re there, stock up on some interesting décor items for your home and workspace as well.
There will also be a photography exhibition called #ThisIsKualaLumpur which captures the bustling city life through day and night photography walking tours around the city. This exhibition will be ongoing from May 5th-21st.
Lastly, submerge yourself in an experimental visual-audio exhibition called Paras Bunyi. The exhibition will be held at Urbanscapes House along Jalan Hang Kasturi, throughout the 16-day festival.
