You might be surprised to even stumble upon this hidden gem in Kuala Lumpur because it is simple but still offers pretty good Western-style meals. This outdoor café serves Western breakfasts as well as their own take on homemade pizza. This is definitely a must-try place especially in the early morning, as you can enjoy your meal while being outdoors as well.

2. PULP by Papa Palheta

PULP is known for their Instagram-worthy café interior. Many head on over here for a leisurely weekend brunch but did you know that they also open their doors by 7.30 am from Monday-Friday with weekends being the 9am exception? People head on over for delicious brews and it’s just the right dose to keep you energised for the day ahead.

3. Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee

Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee is known for their French pastries, especially freshly baked goods that is asking for you to salivate. It serves delicious coffee and great breakfast meals. One of the must-try is their range of pastries and their signature salted egg yolk cronuts in particular. It’s best to head here earlier because even at an early hour like 8-9am, the pastries might just be sold out because it is after all what they are known for!

4. Antipodean, Bangsar

Antipodean is known for their large menu on the chalkboard and you might just take a while to decide what you really want because of the extensive amount of dishes that they offer. A word of advice though: if you enjoy having a hearty breakfast before heading off to work, then Antipodean is right up your alley. Their big breakfasts are definitely worth your morning and it would certainly last you throughout lunchtime.

5. Lokl Coffee Co

If you like the smell of deliciously brewed coffee early in the morning, then check out this local coffee shop at Jalan Tun H. S. Lee. It may be small but it is definitely a quaint little stop where you can get your morning fix of java and a big breakfast! There are also desserts that you can try because what better way to start the day than with a slice of cake and some coffee?

6. Caffeinated Cabin

Caffeinated Cabin is considered a hidden coffee spot and finding this place might prove to be tough. However, it shouldn’t be too hard to miss as it is located beside a salon. The rustic interior is filled with lush greeneries and it is an inviting environment and a perfect place to start your day at. They serve a range of pastries and big breakfasts here as well.

7. Feeka Coffee Roasters

The interior of this café is of derelict walls but it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Somehow, the combo of the torn up walls and of lighbulbs hanging off the ceiling actually works. It gives a grunge, rustic vibe to the place and they are known for their good coffee. Interestingly, the term ‘feeka’ is actually derived from a Swedish term meaning “have a break with some drinks and food’ and that is exactly what you can do here as you enjoy your break from the work-life for a bit with a hearty breakfast.

8. Three Little Birds Coffee

Three Little Birds Coffee is Sentul’s take on the coffee places open by 8am, with the slight exception of Sundays whereby they are open by 9am. This quaint little place is actually located within an area of office blocks but it is most packed not during lunch. It is in fact breakfast hours which sees this eatery being packed. What’s interesting is that Three Little Birds serves up Hojo Tea, which is actually a range of premium Japanese tea.

Frisky Goat, located in TTDI, is known for their comfort food of delicious, decadent cakes which are also freshly baked in the morning. The café has an European vibe to it and they serve great Western breakfasts, including savoury as well as sweet waffles, and French toasts.

10. Greyhound Café

Greyhound Café is a pretty unique eatery to head to in the morning considering how their specialty is Thai cuisine. At this café  located right next to Fahrenheit 88, you can expect meals like Sandwich in a Bowl Salad, Galanga & Coconut Soup and Crispy Sweet Corn with Crab Meat. These are definitenly not your everyday cuisines and it is worth trying at least once!
