We all have that one friend that enjoys extreme sports and is always hyped up about experiencing an adrenaline rush. While some of us hate having a near death experience, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it out! YOLO, you only live once and these are the activities that you should check off your bucket list at least once. Chances are, the adrenaline might just keep you coming back for more!

This extreme sport is located at Kuala Kubu Bharu in Selangor and the river is wide enough for whitewater rafting. The current is strong enough to give you the sensation of your boat toppling over and that will give you a real adrenaline rush. You will definitely enjoy the clear water rapid and just as well, the invigorating jungle environment.

It is definitely a perfect place for a weekend outing with friends and loved ones. There will be packages for you to choose from and each consists of different grades of the river rapid. Safety is highly prioritised at Whitewater Rafting so you don’t have to worry about falling. The river guide will provide the raft, equipment and first aid kit and all you need to prepare is an extra set of clothes because you will get drenched!

I have a dream to do bungee jumping but unfortunately I am too much of a coward to go for it since I am afraid of heights. For those who aren’t afraid of height, this is a great opportunity for you to let go and just enjoy the free fall as you jump off the platform. This bungee jump attraction is located in the heart of Sunway Lagoon, surrounded by other activities, though I doubt you’d fail to notice it, considering that the screams from this area echo for miles.

The jump is located near a huge tidal pool alongside the zipline. It is definitely an experience to be had and if you aren’t up to taking a leap of faith, you can go for G-Force X which is a slingshot ride and you will be safely propelled from 0 to 120km per hours in just mere seconds. However, please consult your physician if you have a medical condition that should prevent you from undertaking strenuous activities as this will definitely get your adrenaline running!

Hours: Mon–Sun, 11am-6pm

Address:  3, Jalan PJS 11/11, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, 46150 Petaling Jaya.

Shout out to all intermediate rock climbers and curious cats! This is the right activity especially for those who enjoy the true challenge of climbing a  natural rock formation. If you have been to Batu Caves, there is in fact a private rock climbing area for climbers that have booked with them in advance. Yes, you have to book it 3 days prior to climbing since it is going to be an activity lasting half a day.

But trust me, it is worth the wait to feel the challenge to climb on the limestone of Batu Cave. Adding on, you will also get a professional guide whose primary concern is your safety before anything else. They would also be able to inform you on which is the safest/best route to take. If you prefer top-roping, they can pick and set up suitable climbing routes for beginners as well. Whatever you choose, enjoy your climbs and dominate that crag!

Hours: Monday-Friday, 12pm-8pm, Saturday, 11am-6pm, closed on Sundays.

Address: 2-105, Jalan Prima SG 3/2, Taman Sri Gombak, 68100 Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia

If you want something that is subtle but also slowly pumps the adrenaline rush with every step you take, this place will be the right one for you. Skytrex requires you to have a constant willpower to walk along bridges and journey through the forest at a height. Best part is, you will get to be a part of nature!

The jungle canopy consists of 3 circuits with each unique challenge of their own. This includes standing, climbing, walking, swinging and zipping as high as 22 meters off the ground. You may think it is not that high but if you look down, fear will take over. Don’t worry though because there are several exit points if you find it too overwhelming.

Do you know that Putrajaya is a great place for water skiing? If you don’t already know, water skiing is a surface water sport in which an individual is pulled behind a boat or a cable ski installation, over the water. It is a similar concept to skiing on snow in general but this time, it is on water.

Nowadays, water skiing is an official sport and it is recognised in tournaments like the SEA Games. Water skiing enthusiasts will not only see the fun side but also the competitive side since you can do much tricks while water skiing. You might think it is such an intense sports that only the adults can play, but there is in fact a teenager who won 5 gold medals and became a champion in Yeonggwang, South Korea for this very sport. So there is absolutely no reason for you not to come and try this out!

We do have a skydiving club and it is guided by four instructors with 35 years of experience between them. They are the ones with the expertise to bring you safely from sky to ground.

It takes courage and discipline to decide whether or not to fall at 200km/h. Once you are on the place, there is no turning back except jumping out of the aircraft. Even the landing zone is wide and can be landed on safely so you have nothing to worry about.

What is flyboarding? Flyboarding has a similar concept to water skiing which is the sport that brings you gliding across a body of water. Flyboarding on the other hand actually brings you off the ground. It is a new, awesome sport that provides you with countless fun and it also gets you drenched in water at the same time.

You get to do awesome moves in the air to impress everyone and even the instructors too! Everyone who tries flyboarding for the first time must pass a training which consists of a safety briefing and this is to ensure that the trainee does not get hurt, and knows how to utilise the device correctly.

A flyboard is a type of water jetpack attached to a Personal Water Craft (PWC) which supplies propulsion to drive the flyboard through the air. With proper instruction, you will certainly be a master of water and air bending!

If you are a fan of Formula 1 and Fast & Furious movies, this will be the right sport for you! Car drifting is a type of sport where the driver intentionally oversteers, and there will be friction against the ground. Expect lots of screeching sounds as you try to maintain control over your vehicle.

Yes, it might sound tough but you will be guided with safety briefing and techniques to ensure your vehicle won’t overturn. You’ll also experience a different sense of adrenaline rush as you speed through corners and angles, overboarding the vehicle’s ability while still holding on to the track. It would certainly be the best fun you ever had behind the wheel and you won’t look at driving the same way ever again.

9. Zorbing

Zorbing is actually an interesting sport where people enter large clear balls and they would either float across a body of water or roll themselves down a slopey hill. Imagine tossing around in a ball as you plunge down a hill at top speed.

It might give you a claustrophobic feeling but once you conquer that fear, you’ll be okay. There are two different rides whereby the dry version will see you running down the hill at top speed, and the most challenging ride on the other hand, would be the wet one. Expect water rushing past you as you rotate through the water down a hill at top speed. If you are able to imagine clothes tumbling about in a washing machine, you would probably be able to envision what goes on in this activity!

It is a dream for many and it no longer has to be a dream for you if you take a leap of faith and try it out for yourself. The One Day Pilot Flying Cessna package at Subang Skypark Airport is a great place to start.

Whether you are a child as young as 12 years old or have little to no experience flying a plane, you’re still welcome to try it out. Expect hands-on experience of flying a small Cessna 172 Aircraft alongside an instructor who will teach you the basic theory and function of flying. Best part is if you decide you want to continue, you can train for your Private Pilot License where you can soar in the air for even longer!

11. Tandem Paragliding

Ever wondered what it’s like to have wings? This sport may not be able to give you actual wings, but it’s as close to one as you’ll ever get. A flying paraglider is lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched, and with no firm structure. Paragliding is where the pilot will sit in a harness suspended below a fabric wing and they will be in charge of the structure all by themselves.

Tandem paragliding, on the other hand, is where you are the passenger while a professional paraglider will sit behind you as the pilot. As such, you will not have to do much but control your issues with height and pretend you have wings. Here in KL, you can do that with Oxbold. Once you’ve had the experience and if you feel like it, you can always register to be a certified paraglider too.

12. BASE Jumping

BASE is an acronym for “building, antenna, span, and Earth”. It is where you parachute or wing suit-fly from a concrete structure or cliff.

The KL Tower BASE Jump is a four-day event that happens annually. They have yet to announced when this year’s event would happen, but you can always keep an eye out on their website to find out. Of course, given that BASE jumping is highly volatile and potentially fatalistic, there are requirements to participate, which are that you must have completed at least 120 jumps – 20 of them within a year of the KL Tower jump. You must also have a 2-year BASE jumping experience.

13. Diving with Sharks

When people tell you they’re afraid of sharks, you can be sure that three quarters of them are because of the infamous Steven Spielberg movie, Jaws. If you’re one of them, conquer the fear by diving with sharks without having to go out to the sea. Swimming up close and personal with South African Sand Tiger Sharks may be the key to conquering your fear once and for all.

16. Ninja Warrior

American Ninja Warrior is a pretty crazy reality show where you watch participants attempting to complete a series of obstacle courses that only increase in difficulty sequentially. Sometimes, you even feel the pain just by watching the folks on the telly.

However, if you are interested in participating in something of the sort, EnerZ has got you covered. As Asia’s largest extreme park, they have set up their own Ninja Warrior game cube. Of course, it is not as huge or glamorous as the one you see on TV, but it’s still pretty impressive!
