2 Malaysian sisters are giving us serious envy, because they get to fly around Malaysia in a hot air balloon. But they aren’t doing this just for fun either.

The Malaysian knowledge on hot air balloons is still pretty limited. To fix this, LifeOnAir, is touring around the Peninsula for 60 days, in order to spread awareness about hot air balloons. LifeOnAir is an initiative by the AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, which is the company responsible for the past Putrajaya and Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. It is also a company helmed by the sisters.

Nur Izzati and Nur Atiqah Khairudin, also known as the “balloon sisters” are Malaysia’s very first female hot air balloon pilots. The girls will be having an expedition in 9 states across Peninsular Malaysia for a duration of 60 days. The purpose of LifeOnAir is to educate people, especially the youth on understanding how hot air balloons actually work.

The girls have completed their journey thus far in two states: Putrajaya and Terengganu, and are currently in Patin Tempoyak, Kuantan, where they will be staying for an additional 2 days, and will be departing on September 10. In each of their targeted location, the girls will be staying for 4 days and alternately taking one week off to run their company.

The Hot Air Balloon Workshop by LifeOnAir will be organised at primary schools and high schools on the second day of each workshop location. On the third day of the event, the girls will invite several local guests to fly with them and observe the states from a bird’s eye view.

Enjoying the nature and beauty of Peninsula Malaysia from a different view is really awe-inspiring and eye-opening too. Letting others understand how one things work in nature is a gift that is meant to be spread and shared, and that is the ultimate aim of LifeOnAir.

It’s a cool initiative by the girls and the fact that they are exuding girl power at the same time is a double win. Discover KL wishes LifeOnAir all the best in their expedition, and a safe and eventful journey ahead!
