Immense pride is what the Olympics contingent should feel as they stepped off the airplane earlier today to return to their home country. Regardless of whether there is a presence of a medal hung around their neck or not, they each have Malaysians’ utmost respect.

Today marked the return of the team, and they were nothing short of excited to come home.

Then when they landed, they received a “welcome shower”.

Fans were also rightfully excited.

And the team received a well-deserved news, whereby ASEAN gold medalists will receive free flights for LIFE!

And News Straits Time reported that ASEAN silver medalists would also receive free flights for 5 years and bronze medalists would get free flights for 3 years.

Awards aside, the best prize the team would have received thus far, would have been a chance to be our representatives in Rio, and this return was one of champions through and through.

Job well done, team Malaysia! Your country welcomes you home with open arms.
