Plenty of new food concepts were developed in the Malaysian market as of late and they include food hybrids like cronuts (croissants + doughnuts), croffles (croissants + waffles) and now, there’s even a sushi doughnut!

The sushi doughnuts are available at Aussie Roll in Empire Damansara, which has branches in Australia and Singapore. Now while the sushi doughnut is not sweet by any means, it certainly looks like a doughnut.

Some of the flavours to try are avocado slices and golden sparkling roe. There are other premium options such as salmon and unagi too. Each of these “doughnuts” cost anywhere between RM8-RM10.

At Aussie Roll, you can opt to “pick, pay and pack” whereby you pick your ingredients of choice, pay at the counter, and have it packed away. If you’re up for it, you could also have the meals at the outlet itself.

Besides that, Aussie Roll serves sushi pizzas whereby the sushi condiments are placed on top of a crispy flatbread to mimic a real pizza.

Other than sushi doughnuts and sushi pizzas, Aussie Roll serves curry chicken rice and ramen too. These set meals are priced between RM12-RM13.

Aussie Roll is a pork-free and non-alcoholic restaurant, hence making it a good choice for all Malaysians. If you are looking for something a little different to try in the Damansara area, you could consider this place.
