李宗伟出过一本名为《败者为王》的自传。其实起这个书名需要很大的勇气，一个世界排名第一的羽毛球选手竟承认自己是败者，很多球迷都表示不理解，但是显然李宗伟并不介意，他为自己这么努力地付出而骄傲。可想而知虽然李宗伟“败”在没有获得奥林匹克冠军，但是在马来西亚人的心目中已然为“王”。
