In terms of its setting, this café gives off a calm and peaceful vibe with its white walls, wooden furnishing, and space that is brightly illuminated by natural light. You can’t help but feel at ease as you enjoy your meal here. Gou Gou, which is the symbol of WaWa Land, adorns the walls, cups and pillow cases at this eatery.

While this café serves main meal dishes like spaghetti and Japanese curry rice, they are better known for their desserts. Their waffles in particular are something to admire and salivate over. WaWa Land’s waffles are made with 100% milk and their signature flavours include Mixed Fruit Waffle and Chocolate Waffle Box.

2. Old School

Its name definitely explains the theme of this café. Old School is decorated with the purpose of making it look like an old classroom. Expect exercise book-style menus, a chalkboard filled with mathematical equations, and even waiters dressed in school uniforms.

Besides the unique setting of this café, Old School’s menu mostly consists of pork dishes except for the occasional chicken or beef dish. One of their signature dishes is the Pork Burger which comes with charcoal buns and a side of wedges. The Pork Nasi Lemak is a satisfying twist to the classic dish and it comes with small cuts of pork.

3. Walnut Café and Bar

While the interior of this café is designed to give it a bit of a modern taste with its high ceiling, wooden furniture, colourful floor tiles, and red brick walls, the exterior is also elegantly designed to interest any potential customers. From the outside, you’ll be able to see an elegant metal framework and large glass windows.

If you’re craving for both Western cuisine and seafood, then you might enjoy Walnut Café and Bar’s signature dish of Grilled Salmon with mashed potatoes and homemade fruit salsa. Their Grilled King Prawn Skewered comes with 6 large prawns that are flavourful and feels like a complete meal in itself.

4. TiPsy Brew o’Coffee

Coffee is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of TiPsy Brew o’Coffee but they are more than just their cup of java. Besides providing excellent coffee and other beverages, this café also serves its fair share of good food with local cuisine, pasta, and home-made cakes.

Their Prawn Aglio Olio comes with spaghetti, cherry tomatoes, prawns and rockets. For desserts, you can opt for their Berries French Toast with Vanilla Ice Cream. The warm French toast is complemented by a generous serving of blueberries, blackberries and strawberries as well as some vanilla ice cream.

From the name itself, you could probably tell that this café has a pretty distinctive menu and you’re exactly right. And if you haven’t guessed it yet, Mango Six is an eatery known for its mango-based drinks and desserts. As a side note, Korean drama fans might recognise this café as the Korean branch has been featured in the Korean drama, Heirs.

Other than the café’s popular drinks, Mango Tango and the Mango Juice Series, the menu also has several food choices consisting of breakfasts, pastries, and desserts. One of their most popular dishes include the Mango Waffle, which looks elegant, what with the waffle layered with vanilla ice-cream and mango cubes. The Fruit Waffle, on the other hand, is a good choice for those who are looking to sample several fruits at once.

6. Bow Wow Café

The hint is in the name of this eatery as Bow Wow Café is definitely the place to be for dog owners to enjoy coffee with their furry friends. This dog-friendly café serves a mix of Western and Asian cuisine, cakes and coffee.

As for their signature dishes, opt for the Bow Wow Ultimate Pork Burger which comes with a pork burger patty, cheese, some vegetables and a side of thick-cut fries. The Pork Meatball Pasta comes with 5 meatballs which probably would not be as iconic and memorable as Ikea’s but is good all the same. Coupled with the pasta, it makes for a filling dish too.

7. Ground Eatery

Ground Eatery’s restaurant layout is unique with its high ceiling, wall of red bricks on one side and the separate dining areas with different lightings. The high ceiling accompanied by a potted plants is enough to make us feel we’re in tune with nature as we enjoy the meals available there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The eatery mostly sells Western food but there’s also a few interesting fusion dishes as well. One’s the Flossy Berries HK Eggettes, with its lavender white chocolate ice-cream and chicken floss. Another is the Signature Dino Eggs which is a protein-rich meal of soft-boiled eggs wrapped with some fried minced pork.

8. Brussels Beer Café

Brussels Beer Café is one of the few places that offers European draft beers like Hoegaarden and Leffe but while it does serve great beer, you can expect them to serve great food as well.

Belgian cuisine is what they do best and their Crispy Roasted Pork Knuckle is the perfect finger food to share among a group of friends. The crispy pork skin it comes with is crispy and fried to perfection. For a more filling meal, the Pork Bacon Cheese Burger would be a good option too. It comes with a large pork burger patty, some bacon strips, cheese, salad and a side of thick-cut fries.

Porcupine Place is run by a British surgeon-turned-chef, Wen Huey and Swiss-trained chef, Jon Ng. The pair enjoys mixing up Western techniques with local flavours through their home-cooked meals and recipes.

The Hungry Belly which is a popular dish, is an all-day breakfast consisting of a pastry stuffed with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. The Smoked Salmon Blanket features smoked salmon wrapped in Vietnamese rice paper to emulate a blanket. It comes with fresh rockets and capers as well.

10. Banh Mi Café

‘Banh Mi’ is actually a Vietnamese word for bread and it is often used to represent the Vietnamese Baguette Sandwich. At Banh Mi Café, you can opt for their sandwiches which are basically baguettes filled with Vietnamese-style meats, pickled carrots, cucumbers, daikon fresh plate, and various sauces.

At the same time, the café also offers other Vietnamese dishes like the Banh Mi Thit Heo, which is a baguette filled with grilled pork and Pho Bo, which is a bowl of beef noodle soup.
