Some people get a bit antsy before flying and what better way to get the edge off than to knock back a couple of cocktails? There’s no need to overdo it and get totally smashed, but one or two cocktails can help with pre-flight nerves.
Bar Metropole is a classy, brightly lit bar in KLIA2’s international departure area on the way to gates P and Q. If you’re early enough for your flight, it’s a nice place to chill out at. Wifi is available here, which is great for travellers.
The drinks are pretty decent too. I tried the Grey Goose le Fizz (cocktails are RM31.80 each) one Tuesday morning (don’t judge, I had pre-flight jitters!) before my flight to Singapore. The Grey Goose le Fizz is made with Grey Goose vodka, St Germain elderflower liqueur, lime and soda water. What first drew me in was the elderflower liqueur since I love everything elderflower. I was so glad I went with this drink because it was very light and pleasant.
I also had a Bellini which is made with peach and Martini Prosecco. This drink is a lot fizzier than the le Fizz, to be honest. It is also a lot sweeter, but Bellinis are known to be sweet and popular among women. I can’t really imagine a guy sipping on this, though – no gender discrimination intended. I myself felt that it was a little too girly for me.
Well, now I have a good reason to be early for my international flights at KLIA2…
