“Lat tali lat tali tam plom”.

This Malaysian game which requires no cards nor boards is widely played when young and evokes sweet childhood memories. It sees one fanning their hand above another, mimicking a swimming fish as they chime those magic words. It is also a favourite pastime among kids way back before the smartphone made its debut.

Lat Tali Lat is also the name of a new café in Klang Valley, and aptly it is a venture by 2 best friends named Joanne and Li May.

Considering how the game is played among friends, it gives the café a friendly localised vibe which makes you want to spend hours here. Besides the cool vibes it gives off, Lat Tali Lat Café also has unique food offerings.

Ice gem cookies are one of the meal offerings here alongside their peanut butter cakes which have earned rave reviews from past guests.

For main meal offerings, try their spaghetti bolognaise or one-pot chicken rice, which past guests have mentioned tastes unique and one-of-a-kind.

The Asian chicken salad is a carbless offering and fills you up without having the addition of pasta or noodles. Chicken is the protein of the meal and it is a pretty filling dish. As for those who prefer some delicious carbs, they could go for the Pietato which is a mix between a pie and potato. It is served with some fresh salad on the side.

Other unique offerings that you will find at Lat Tali Lat is some old school card games to laze the day away with, and if you are a solo diner, a cute little hamster will join you for dinner as well!

It’s a nice touch to the concept of the café and makes them a friendly one whether you’re here with a bunch of friends and looking to spend hours on end playing some card games, or if you’re just looking to have a quiet dinner by yourself—now with the added company of a hamster plush toy.
