Tatiana Kumar Nandha, who was crowned the winner for Miss Malaysia World 2016/17 in August last year has now been stripped of her crown. This came about due to some apparent misconduct by Tatiana, which led to the breaking of the rules of the organisation’s Code of Conduct and contract.

The exact reason for Tatiana being stripped of her title was elaborated by Dato’ Anna Lin to The Star. The former National Director & Licensee for Miss Malaysia World 2016 mentioned that Tatiana and her family had made several offensive comments on social media about the Miss Malaysia World organisation, and one of it also involved an important sponsor.
Following this incident, first runner up, Shweta Sekhon is crowned the new Miss Malaysia World 2016/17, with effect from March 6, 2017.
