白糖悄悄起价11仙
3月1日起，全国的白糖零售价格，将从每公斤2令吉84仙，调涨至2令吉95仙，悄悄起了11仙。
对于白糖起价一事，由于完全无预警，导致许多零售商被蒙在鼓里，引起市场混乱。
有些零售商已经调整价格，而有些杂货商则表示想等政府证实后才愿意调整。
不过，经过民主行动党马口区州议员周世扬向反暴利主任查询之后，已证实全国的白糖每公斤涨价11仙。他亦清楚表明是获得政府批准起价，与以往宣布起价的手法完全不同。
有消息透露，政府不公开宣布调涨白糖价格，是为避免市民抢购而导致白糖短缺。
他对此感到纳闷，并质疑政府在处理零售白糖价格上不够透明，连批准涨价都偷偷摸摸处理，使到市场一片凌乱，市民更难于适从。
”白糖是人民广乏使用的日常食品之一，它的起价肯定会牵一发动全身，连带影响百货涨价”，
他表示政府在这时期批准白糖涨价，乃是不明智之举，将导致更大的『涨风』，人民将面对更艰难的生活。
