I’m sure this will be the first place to come to mind when thinking about fancy tea parties (at least it was for me). The Majestic Hotel’s stunning Orchid Conservatory is an intimate dining space for up to 15 people, surrounded by fresh, blooming orchids all year round. The glass walls provide ample natural lighting and airiness, and their signature afternoon tea sets don’t even need an introduction, they’re that good. Make sure to place your bookings well in advance though, this place tends to get booked up fast!

This quaint, French-style bungalow (hence the name, which literally means ‘French house’) houses an upscale French restaurant and bar within its walls. Famed for their authentic French cuisine, it makes sense seeing as their head chef hails from Brittany. Not to forget their delectable afternoon tea sets, which will be perfect to serve at an opulent tea party. Maison Francaise is open to hosting small parties, and you can choose between their picturesque poolside or their bright and cozy private room on the upper floor. They also allow you to decorate however you like (as long as you clean up after yourself, of course), so bring on the balloons and streamers!

A charming English-style café in the suburbs of Melawati, Tim’s Teapot Terrace has made a name for itself for nearby residents to have a feel for fancy teatime treats, but at affordable prices. The cozy, cottage-like ambiance, paired with their wall of china teapots, rustic wooden décor, and greenery everywhere makes the perfect place to host a tea party. Their wide assortment of cakes and pastries will surely tide you and your guests over, or you could also go for their tiered afternoon tea set. The restaurant can only cater for 20 people at time for parties, and you would have to call a few days in advance if you want to pre-order a whole cake as well. This place could possibly even rival the Mad Hatter’s tea party!

Who would have thought there would be not one, but two tea houses in Taman Melawati? Miss Ellie Tea House is, of course, known for their teatime snacks and sweet treats, especially their homemade scones! The quaint décor will automatically make you feel like you’re in an English cottage by the countryside, instead of in the middle of bustling KL. With vintage-looking paintings on the wall, delicate china pots and teacups, freshly baked bread and cakes on display, and even a coat rack by the door, it’s no wonder that Miss Ellie has made waves in the café scene. They can take up to 35 people at a time for parties, so be sure to call ahead to book the café for your tea party!
