Baked molten cheese tart is a food craze that will never go out of style. So, it’s only natural that those parcels of cheesy goodness have been cropping up in tons of bakeries around KL. Some bakeries are even specialising in cheese tarts alone! If you want to try some cheese tarts out for yourself, the following bakeries and cafés have got you covered:

Even though John King is well-known for their egg tarts, they have dipped their toe into the waters of the cheese tart trend, and have introduced baked Hanjuku cheese tarts to their menu. Their tarts are baked fresh three times a day (at 12pm, 3pm, and 7pm), so make sure to buy them when they’re still warm from the oven to get the full molten effect from the cheese!

Happy Happy Bread Bakery’s half-baked cheese tarts are a big hit with their customers. Their thick, crumbly crust holds the molten cheese filling excellently, and the light cheese flavour might be more preferable to those of you who don’t want a filling that’s too rich and cheesy. Reminiscent of their signature Portuguese egg tarts, give this a try if you’re in the area.

4. Lavender

This Malaysian franchise famous for their assorted breads, cakes, and pastries have finally dabbled into making cheese tarts, and their results do not disappoint. Their tarts are slightly flatter than usual, but the velvety filling provides just the right amount of cheesiness without being too overwhelming. The crust, too, is quite thick in comparison to other cheese tarts, but it works in this case.

Avaiable in 14 outlets nationwide.

Their almost perpetual queues are there for good reason: people just can’t seem to get enough of their molten Hanjyuku cheese tarts! The light, buttery crusts perfectly complements the ice cream-like, strong cheese filling within, to give you that mouth-watering melting effect you see on Instagram all the time.
