2. VCR

If you’re looking for a comfortable work environment in city, VCR is where you want to be. Centrally located in town with excellent wifi, it is not unusual to see at least 3-4 professional nomads plugging in at this cafe for the whole day. If you’re tired and your eyes get squinty from all the work, take a break at their outdoor area and the greens within the compound of the cafe will definitely help you unwind a little (literally VCR and chill). 3. Morningwood

Minimalistic spaces are great for productivity. The lesser the distraction, the more you can focus on your work. The setting at Morning Wood is simple – they’re not too over the top with their mural art, the place is well-lit (say no to straining your eyes), comfortable workspace and of course, great coffee (and tea)! There are several colleges and university around this precinct and no surprises that students love hanging around here to finish up their assignments.

Step into the cafe and you’ll be greeted by a ray of natural sunlight that will boost your mood. (If you’re not a sun person, a little Vitamin D won’t harm!) The ambience here is laid back and quiet, while the design of the cafe (glasshouse design with high ceiling) is state of the art and the best part of all, its very spacious! 5. Artistry by Artisan Coffee Bar

Need to get some work done and then grab a thing or two from the grocer? Here’s one that will help you kill two birds with one stone (that sure sounds productive). Located in Atria Shopping Gallery, Artistry a great place to get some work done. Their tables are equipped with power outlets and do ask the friendly baristas for the wifi password. This cafe is the third outlet by powerhouse Artisan Coffee, so if you want to impress a client, schedule a meeting here and let the cuppa do the talking.

6. Espresso Lab Nu Sentral

Driving in the Klang Valley can be a real pain and definitely not fun at all. Fortunately there’s Espresso Lab in Nu Sentral, reachable by trains (LRT & KTM). Since getting here is easy breezey, you can save your energy and focus on the necessary. There’s good wifi, plug points to fuel your device, carefully crafted coffee to fuel your brain, and if you’re tired you can always people watch (for research purpose!).

Ask any KL hipsters and street chic fashionistas which cafe is great for productivity and chances that they’ll say Feeka is higher than you mum’s jeans. Feeka is strategically located at Bukit Bintang but as you step in, you’ll forget that you’re in the city centre. The noise level is relatively low and with comfortable benches, decent wifi and large, bright open space, we can see why this cafe is a popular make-shift office for the expats as well.

Located next to a boutique backpackers hostel, it is common to see travellers of different cultural background pop by LOKL for breakfast. Perhaps a quick chat with them will help you create new narratives for your work. On top of that, this cute little cafe is equipped with multiple power source, natural light (yay sunlight) and speedy wifi.

9. The Augmented SS2

The Augmented at SS2 is a minimalistic cafe that will amplify your ideas. The interior is simple, bright, and its pretty spacious too. This cafe is equipped with a good amount of sockets to power your gadgets and reliable wifi to keep you connected. What we love most is the comfortable seats that saves us from splurging on orthopedic therapies. They’re close on Thursdays which is great because there’s a night market around that area which will cause some minor congestion.

10. Bean Brothers

Bean Brothers may not be the first Korean concept cafe in town but they sure know a thing or two about interior design. Located in Sunway Damansara, this two-storey cafe (also a warehouse lot) gives out a very industrial vibes, and the spacious environment is great for anti-social people who enjoys personal space. There are plenty of plug points across the cafe and stable Wifi to boot. A gentle bro reminder from us: It’s a pretty place but you’re there to get work done so don’t get too caught up with Instagramming the place.

11. Aether Cafe

Swamp with work and no time to hit the gym? At least there’s Aether Cafe that focuses on healthy food (no fried stuff and is vegetarian friendly) to help you eat clean while you smash some deadlines. What’s great about this place is the very welcoming home-like cozy-ness that makes you feel comfortable. The chairs are great for laying back but if you want to sit upright to work on your laptop, it might take a small toll on your back. Nevertheless, its a great spot for meeting with clients or for small group discussions.

12. Palmier Patisserie Cafe

Formerly known as Encore Patisserie Cafe (they’re still using that as their FB name), it wouldn’t strike your mind to actually catch up with work there. It’s a pastry place, they serves tarts, sweets, desserts… Really? YES, the internet there is actually quite decent, the furnitures are comfortable for working long hours, and a little sugar to boost your mood doesn’t harm right? We’ve noticed more and more people are bringing their lappies here to work in the evening after dinner. Maybe “but first desserts” then continue work is a great idea after all.
