What in the world is a kyap (plural: kyapes)? Yup, a quick Google search will bring about nothing relevant. That was when we found out that a dessert stall in 1 Utama might’ve just coined the term for their new dessert.

Nom Nom Kyapes’ desserts are essentially ice cream kyaped together with warm, crispy waffles. In fact, that’s how the term came about. But they’re not just ordinary waffles and ice cream. Other ingredients are thrown into the mix too, making it a wholesome dessert.

They first advertised their stall in 1 Utama with not much of a clue as to what it might actually be. In early September, Nom Nom Kyapes finally unveiled their menu of waffles served with 5 different fillings that’ll be kyaped together in the middle of the pastry.

The waffles are priced at RM11 each and here’s a list of the current flavours:

  • Peanut Butter Kaya
  • Peanut Butter Sweetened Milk Sugar
  • Peanut Butter Nutella
  • Peanut Butter Sweetened Milk Chicken Floss
  • Frozen Fruits Nutella Whipped Cream

The one flavour that’s got us curious is the Peanut Butter Sweetened Milk Chicken Floss. We could only imagine what peanut butter and chicken floss would taste like when sandwiched between a warm waffle.

If you’re not exactly the adventurous sort and would prefer more traditional flavours, opt for any one of the kyapes on the menu instead. Frozen Fruits Nutella Whipped Cream, anyone?
