The first time Malaysians got a chance to see local symbols in a video game was when the Uncharted 4: The Malaysia Job game was released and featured characters talking about our country.

Now, Malaysians will get to see their beloved country in a popular video game again. This time around, it’s the upcoming Final Fantasy XV game which is scheduled to be released at the end of this month.

Wherein the Uncharted 4 game featured Malaysian phone numbers, the Final Fantasy XV game will feature the characters going on a roadtrip and stopping for some mamak grub! This is all made possible due to the fact that the lead game designer for the series is actually a Malaysian.

Malaysian, Wan Hazmeer works for Square Enix, which is the production company responsible for the 15th game in the series. He even tried persuading the company to include pontianak’s and orang minyak’s and though this did not come to fruition, at least we’d get to see the characters chowing down on some delicious roti canai!

It would be interesting to see all these elements of Malaysian food included in the game, and beside roti canai’s, there would also be satays and teh tarik’s!

The game is said to be released by November 29, and if you’re looking forward to watching the characters at a local mamak, the wait won’t be for too long.
